Saffron tilak on forehead is made which means we are obeying the rules and regulations of Jainism & will not do anything against Jainism.

It is also the symbol which shows blessing, removes misfortunes, auspicious, good sign , keeps the AAGYA CHAKRA calm, help in meditation while worshipping and shows we are proud to be part of our religion.
